Hi friends,

On Saturday, November 8th, a day after my one of my cats, Rio, got sick, I took him to an emergency vet only to be hit with the worst news possible - they found two masses in his intestine, and they gave him probably two weeks to live.

That night, after receiving his paperwork from the ER, a trusted friend of mine, who’s also a vet tech, told me that based on the ultrasound Rio was given, there is no real diagnosis of cancer, or of it being inoperable. All they know, as shown in the paperwork, is that he has an obstruction. Without blood work, I currently have no definitive proof it’s cancer, or isn’t incurable.

While there’s no debate there are masses in his system, I have a tiny bit of hope that I won’t lose him, but I still need to be realistic about what’s to come.

Which brings me here. My goal will change as I get more answers, but right now, this is what I’m funding for.

- Blood work for Rio this week, to make sure what we’re seeing is cancer.

- At home euthanasia services, so he can be comfortable when he goes, and Violet, his sister, can be there with him.

- Cremation, since I’d have no place to bury him.

I’m taking this day by day, spending every second I can with my little boy, but I’d appreciate any help with what’s to come. Thank you so much for reading.
