Hello, thank you for coming to read our story. Rhea, or “ya-ya” according to our baby girl, is our 3 year old German shepherd. She injured her spine last weekend, resulting in her rear legs being paralyzed. She was initially fine after injury, but after 24 hours started having pain & the next day could no longer stand with no reflexes in her feet. We took her to the animal hospital where we were told that scans & surgery would cost us close to $15,000. While she is part of our family, we are unfortunately are not able to afford the costs. We were told that surgery is her best option for recovery, but in the meantime we are only able to manage her pain, keep her comfortable, do physical therapy, & hope she gains some function back over time if swelling comes down.

We are asking for help from those who are willing & able, to fund for vet bills, medications, supplies, comfort items, mobility aids & hopefully surgery for our girl. We would like to give her the best opportunity of recovery we can, while also providing her the best quality of life through it all.
