Rango’s Forever Fight: Built Wrong, Loved Right

Donation protected
Rango doesn’t move like other dogs.

He lumbers.
He leans.
He wobbles when he walks and crashes when he sits.

We thought maybe he just needed a new hip.
A fix.
Something modern medicine could solve.

But what we found out was this:
Every single joint in Rango’s body is malformed.
Diagnosed with -
  • Bilateral Hip Dysplasia
  • Bilateral Tibial Torsion
  • Bilateral MPLs
  • Bilateral Carpal Valgus
  • Bilateral Tarsal Valgus
****basically every joint in his body

His hips, his elbows, his knees — none of them developed correctly. The vets are leaning toward a combination of crate confinement and malnourishment through poor diet.

There is no surgery to make him whole.

And still — he is whole.
Because of them.
Because Collin and Kim, his fosters-turned-adopters, saw the miracle buried in the mess.

They saw beauty in the broken.

So we moved fast.

Because we all knew — he needed out.

From day one, they opened their hearts and said, “We’ve got him.”
And they meant it. And we are in awe of their love, dedication, hard work, and commitment.

We’re fundraising for:
    •    Long-term pain management to keep him comfortable
    •    Physical therapy and movement support to keep him mobile
    •    Custom gear as needed — carts, braces, magic boots, whatever it takes. We know that his needs will continue to evolve in the coming years
    •    Specialist consults to help us stay ahead of what’s coming
    •    Anything and everything that gives this boy a life that feels good

Because Rango deserves that.

He is absolute joy in a crooked body.
An ever-expanding heart contained in a broken frame.
A floppy-limbed reminder that love doesn’t wait for perfect —
it shows up anyway.

He doesn’t know he’s different.
He knows the sun feels good on his back.
He knows he loves the soft spot under the window in his living room.
He knows he loves his sisters Ozzy and Chewy, and they love him too.
He knows Kim and Collin love him.
He knows belly rubs and head scratches are forever.

Now we are here to show him the power of a pack.

Help us show him what else is possible.
Help us make comfort, movement, and freedom real — not just for today,
but for every wild, wobbly day to come.

Thank you for believing, like us, in the ones the world overlooks.
We will always show up and fight for dogs like Rango.

And at MCP-LA, we always keep our promises.
