Ranger came from Rowan County Animal Shelter, where he waited nearly three long weeks for someone to see him… to choose him… to give him a chance at a real home. During his time there, a kind volunteer, Connie, took him to be evaluated, and he was initially diagnosed with what was believed to be a sprain—later thought to be a small fracture.

But after his adopter, Sheree, brought him home and followed up with their own veterinarian, the truth was far more serious. Imaging revealed that both his radius and ulna are completely broken.

Because of the severity of the injury, amputation was first presented as the only realistic option. But this is where love stepped in.

Refusing to give up on him, his adopter sought multiple opinions… and after three consultations, they finally found a veterinarian who believes Ranger’s leg can be saved. ✨ We are waiting on the final estimate, but surgery could be up to $3,500.

And here’s the part that will melt your heart… Despite everything he’s endured — weeks in the shelter and living with this painful injury — Ranger is nothing but love. He is gentle, affectionate, wonderful with people, and gets along beautifully with other dogs. He doesn’t know anything is wrong… he just wants to be close, to be loved, and to belong.

His adopter is committed to giving him the life he deserves, but can’t do it alone. The family has already invested $1700 for his care.
