I'm writing to you today from UBECI, a dedicated NGO in Quito, Ecuador, where we work tirelessly to support street children and their families. Our mission is rooted in the belief that “Every Child At Risk Deserves a Future.”

By next Wednesday, July 16, we need to raise $10,000 for our initiatives which will be given directly to our campaign on the GlobalGiving platform. If we are able to raise $10,000 by July 16, GlobalGiving will match our contributions with an ADDITIONAL $10,000, doubling our impact!

We can reach this goal if 400 people donate just $25 each.

Here’s what your donation can provide:

$25 – Provides 2 school kits, essential for learning and developing skills

$70 – Provides dental assistance for one child during our dental campaign

$100 – Funds an outdoor canopy to protect children from the sun

$125 – Provides support for one child in our program for one whole year

$300 – Funds 3 months worth of supplies for our activities in the market

$400 – Buys toys for kids in the markets for an entire year

Every dollar counts! If we reach our $10,000 goal it will be doubled on July 16, giving street children in Quito a better chance at a brighter future.

As the new school year approaches in September, we are focusing our efforts on two critical campaigns designed to create lasting impact for these vulnerable families.

1) Our Scholar Kids initiative aims to remove the financial barriers that prevent children from accessing education. While schooling in Ecuador is free, the essential costs of uniforms, shoes, and supplies – totaling around $125 per child – are often insurmountable for mothers struggling to make ends meet. By contributing to Scholar Kids, you can directly help a child step into the classroom, equipped and ready to learn, and unlock their full potential.

2) Our Mother's Workshop is a vital program focused on empowering mothers with emotional intelligence and coping mechanisms. This initiative provides a safe space for mothers to identify and manage their emotions, ultimately working towards breaking cycles of generational violence. By equipping mothers with these crucial tools, we are fostering healthier home environments and building a more stable future for their children.

Both of these programs are interconnected, creating a holistic approach to supporting these families and ensuring the children we serve have the best possible chance at a brighter future.
