Please Help My Boy Pono Heal

My name is Elizabeth, and I’m asking for help with something that has left me heartbroken. My dog, Pono, tore his ACL and is in constant pain. He tries to be brave, but I can see how much it hurts him just to stand or shift his weight. The way he looks at me, trusting me to fix it, breaks me a little more each day.

Pono has carried me through some of the darkest moments of my life. When I finally found the courage to leave a long-term domestic violence situation, he was the one who stayed at my side through every fear, every setback, every lonely night. He’s been my safety, my emotional anchor, and my reminder that gentle love still exists in this world.

Now he needs me — and I’m struggling. I don’t have what I need to get his surgery scheduled, and watching him suffer while feeling helpless has been one of the hardest things I’ve faced.

I’m reaching out with hope that someone out there might help us. Even the smallest support, or simply sharing this, would mean everything. I just want to see Pono be himself again — happy, moving, pain-free, and able to enjoy the life he deserves.
