I rescued Piglet back in 2023 and he has become a huge part of mine and my husband’s life. When he was adopted, he was so sickly and severely underweight. We worked with his vets, got a lot of diagnostic testing done, and he was diagnosed with EPI, a GI disease affecting his pancreas. He takes daily meds for this disease and was doing well and getting healthy for the last 18 months.
Recently, he has had rectal bleeding, which is stemming from an unknown mass. Additionally, he has developed a mass in his mouth. Both of these conditions are affecting his daily life. After struggling to see a specialist for over 6 weeks, we finally got in to see the internal medicine doctor. Unfortunately, he is in much worse condition than he appears to be. Although we have not yet completed his diagnostic testing, the vet has explained that his care will be intensive and expensive. We have money saved to care for Piglet, however, we were not prepared to hear that diagnostics itself may cost well over $10,000.00 and that he requires multiple specialists and may need both oral and rectal surgery to resolve his issues.
We love Piglet more than words can express but this is unfortunately not something we can afford. So we are exploring all possibilities to be able to get him the care he requires, one of which is crowdfunding which brings us here. We understand that times are tough now for everyone but we are hopeful that we can find enough people that have the ability to help us give Piglet a fighting chance.
