We recently experienced an unexpected and unfortunate situation with our cat, Pele. After jumping from his cat tree, he sustained a severe leg injury that requires a surgical procedure known as a femoral head ostectomy. We have already scheduled a consultation with the orthopedic veterinary office, and the estimated cost of the surgery is significant.

Unfortunately, this incident occurred before we finalized a pet insurance plan. Because insurance providers do not cover pre-existing conditions, we are unable to apply coverage to this injury.

This situation comes at a very challenging time for our household. We are still mourning the loss of our 12-year-old Yorkie, our stove recently caught fire and must be replaced, and our water heater is beginning to fail. Managing these multiple unexpected expenses at once has placed a substantial financial strain on us.
