Please help us help our mother! On October 15th, the day after she celebrated her 61st birthday, our mother Margaret (Peggy) had to be rushed to the emergency room due to symptoms that appeared like a stroke. It turned out to be lung cancer instead.
She was admitted to the hospital for three nights and discharged on Saturday, with treatment having just begun! The doctors seem very optimistic about her recovery and believe the treatment is extremely beneficial for the cancer she has, and that the targeted radiation can even shrink the lesions to return use of her hand and speech!
We’re optimistic, we’re hopeful, we’re praying, but we are poor. We need help to afford the costs of the fight as she continuously needs medication to prevent brain swelling, tests to keep an eye on the lesion growth rate or reduction, radiation therapy/Chemo. We’ll do whatever it takes as a family to ensure our mother and grandmother stays alive to enjoy as many more years as we can have with her, and that includes appealing to the good kindness of strangers. She is a loved Mother, Grandmother, Aunt, Sister, Cousin, and Friend, and none of us want to lose her.
Anything will help: donations, sharing for visibility, even if it’s just keeping our mother and family in your thoughts and prayers, we will take it! Our mother is a fighter; she has been one my whole life. She deserves to have a fighting chance!
