Give Paty a Fighting Chance: Back Surgery Fund

Paty has been diagnosed with liver cirrhosis and is in the process of having her name added to the liver transplant list. Unfortunately, Paty had a fall that resulted in a compression fracture of three lower back bones. She is desperately in need of a medical procedure called a kyphoplasty. This procedure will correct her bones so she can get back to the transplant process.

This back injury has put a hard stop on her liver transplant process as she will need to be able to pass a physical fitness exam as part of and before her liver transplant. Currently, we have been denied twice by our medical insurance and are needing to move forward as soon as possible. Her liver transplant process is on hold pending her back procedure and healing process. This kyphoplasty procedure is in the price range of $8,000 to $14,000, so anything you can donate helps for sure.

Another reason we need to move forward with the kyphoplasty is so her doctor can take her off pain meds that are damaging her liver more. She needs these pain meds for now to manage her pain, but unfortunately, they are hurting her liver more. Paty has been through so much this past year with her medical conditions, and it just seems like one hurdle after another. Grateful she keeps good spirits in spite of her adversity. She really is a fighter with a strong spirit that just wants to get better and be here to enjoy family and especially her grandkids. She has grown really close with her younger two granddaughters and just needs a fighting chance.
