Give Ox a Second Chance at a Happy Life

Hello everyone,
Meet Ox, a resilient 11-month-old rescue who's been through more than any puppy should. When he was first adopted by his loving Coast Guard family, Ox was malnourished and weak. At just 6 months old, Ox suffered a double compound fracture of his femur due to past neglect. Sadly, his back leg had to be amputated.
Despite all he's been through, Ox's spirit remained strong. But just 5 months after his first surgery, he injured his only remaining back leg. After rushing him to OakVet, a specialty ER for animals, we were told that the surgery to fix his leg would cost $5,000. We searched for alternatives and found another surgeon willing to perform the procedure for half the price. However, after starting the surgery, the surgeon didn’t feel confident continuing, leaving Ox in even more pain.
With no other choice, we returned to OakVet the very next day. Thankfully, they successfully performed the surgery, and Ox is expected to make a full recovery.
We're reaching out to friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers to help cover these additional costs. Any contribution, big or small, will make a huge difference for Ox’s recovery. We are deeply grateful for your support during this difficult time.
Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity.
