Helping a Loving Grandpa and School Janitor Fight Lung Cancer

Hi everyone,

My heart is heavy as I write this, but I'm reaching out with hope and a humble plea for your support for my incredible Grandpa. Many of you know him as a kind, steadfast presence, a dedicated Sunday School teacher who has nurtured countless young hearts in faith. For years, he was a familiar and friendly face as a janitor at Redwood and Highland Elementary schools. He's a loving father, grandfather, and a passionate, die-hard Rams fan who lives and breathes football season. More recently, he's also embraced the joyous role of a great-grandfather to his precious 13-month-old great-grandson, a little one who brightens every single one of his days.

Recently, our family received devastating news: Grandpa has been diagnosed with lung cancer, potentially stage 4, and is also battling a severe bout of pneumonia. The two conditions have compounded to cause a lung collapse, from which he has just been stabilized after doctors cleared his airway and drained fluid. This is an important step forward, but the diagnosis has turned his world, and ours, upside down. He's been unable to work, and while he has some retirement savings, it's simply not enough to cover the immense costs that come with fighting this aggressive disease and managing daily life.

Grandpa is a fighter, but he can't do this alone. The medical bills are piling up, and we want to ensure he has access to the best possible care without the added burden of financial stress. Beyond medical treatment and living expenses, our greatest wish is to give him the gift of time – more moments to create precious memories with his family, especially with his great-grandson, before God calls him home.
