Olivia was born with a brain injury called hypoxia ischemia encephalopathy grade 2. This caused her to have multiple seizures that went undetected for 12 hours after birth. Because of this injury she was diagnosed with cerebral palsy a little before her first birthday. This caused permanent brain damage that has affected primarily her left side and her legs. She cannot walk, sit up, crawl, roll over, etc. because of this her hips aren’t going into socket because she does not bear weight at all. We have a physical therapist willing to do therapy with her 2 hours a day, 5 days a week in our home but the cost is 193.99 per session. She has a 4 week slot from January to march we are hoping to come up with the funds for. If she does this therapy and it is successful, we are praying she will be able to stand on her own and hopefully she will not need hip surgery next year ( we serve a very powerful God). If she doesn’t start bearing weight she will need basically a hip replacement at the age of 4 years old. (And again every 5-10 years after if she doesn’t start standing) She does outpatient therapy already, and do not qualify for inpatient at Riley unless she has had the hip surgery or has a declining condition. If you cannot donate, we ask for prayers because we could sure use them right now. Thank you and God bless!
