Little Oliver needs new legs, Lieutenant Dan! Well not quite legs, but a new back. Little buddy succumbed to IVDD right before my eyes.

11am: quiet, didn’t want to go outside

12pm: uncomfortable, hunched back

1pm: tippy toe walking, panting, unable to settle

2:30pm: call to my sisters, back leg paralysis with delayed deep pain stimulation…

We’re off to our primary vet… and then sent to the emergency specialist for a CT scan. After a telehealth with the neurologist, they inform us Oliver needs an MRI and more than likely back surgery. We would do just about anything for our pets, and this isn’t outside the realm. He’s got a 90% chance of full recovery and he’s 3 years old.. had the circumstances been different, we wouldn’t be here.

Oliver has a chance, but his humans need some help. The cost of the surgery, hospitalization, and aftercare is overwhelming for our family. Normally we would never ask for any support but given everything we are going through, finances are tighter than usual.
