Well, yesterday while I was walking Nugget, I noticed my little guy was having trouble urinating, and all of a sudden, he started crying in pain and collapsed. I immediately rushed him to Tufts Small Animal Hospital only to find out he had a kidney stone that ruptured his bladder and needed emergency surgery. The wonderful doctors placed a drain in his bladder to stabilize him in order to perform surgery. I thank God I reacted as I did. It gave Nugget a fighting chance of survival. Surgery was performed this afternoon to remove the stone and repair Nugget's bladder, which had a significant tear. Nugget will be spending a couple of days in the ICU for recovery. This medical bill will be significant for Nugget. I'm not one to ever ask for help; I have always been one to find a way to resolve, but this is just out of the scope of my reach. Nugget has been my rock through all that is going on in my life right now, and I really don't know what I would do without him. Nugget has truly been my peace right now, and to see him go through this is truly heartbreaking. I just want to be able to be there for him. I love this little guy.
