To my father, I was always a princess, but my name is Lexi Gordon. As hard as this is to share, my father passed away today, August 21st at 4pm. He left behind 7 children who loved him so much and are grieving, and 4 beautiful grandchildren. As much as I know people want to reach out, we just ask to give us time to go through our process of learning to be without him.
If you knew my dad, Nic Gordon, you know that he was a funny (sometimes annoyingly funny), tough, kind, and very, very stubborn guy. He even had a huge arm tattoo that said “Joker” and tattoos of all his kids' names on his body. Of course, mine was on his middle finger, which he thought was hilarious. The last thing my dad said to me was that he just wanted to die being Nic. So stubborn but true to himself. He had so many friends and so many people who truly cared for him. The only thing that brings me peace is knowing he’s with his brother now. My dad was the type of guy to take his shirt off for someone in need. My heart is broken having to make this, but it’s the only thing I think I can do to give my father the proper goodbye everyone would want to say to him.
If you are able to help, it would go towards my father’s funeral costs and gravestone. He was a stand-up guy and he deserves to have a place where all his kids can go to speak to him that feels inviting. We all appreciate and thank everyone who is able to help.
