This gofundme page is setup to raise funds to the village LESPAR in NEPAL (Annapurna side) . Our original goal was to help the school with funds for their building, but the village has asked for an additional project , which will help long term both the children and the villagers.
Our second project is to create a sustainable farming facility in Lespar, titled "Terrace Farming to improve Food and Nutrition” .
The additional funds will go toward implementing a Worm Farm, building a Greenhouse and training the local villagers on sustainable farming.
Our funds are creating the First Pilot project in LESPAR , from this successful pilot they will then replicate sustainable farming in other villages.
Traditional Fertilisers are very expensive and difficult to source, by developing these worm farms and creating the green house, new fruit and vegetables of high nutritional value can be grown, offering a healthier lifestyle to the local villages.
Lespar village is made up of two big villages called " Tallo Gaun " ( lower village ) and "Uppallo Gaun " ( upper village). Most people are not very well educated so their main income source is farming.
We are working with T-HELP NEPAL.Org and World Expeditions will help coordinate and distrubute the funds
Sterling Results Fitness Club is leading a trek to Nepal in April 2023. We will meet with the head director of THelp when we are in Katmandu and understand the project in detail, plus at the end of our trek we will visit this village and meet the header farmer who will be leadsing this project. We will document the trip and share the experience to everyone who donates.
In 2019, we last raise over $5000 and gave the school a range of technology,. including computers, projectors and ipads. the school was most appreciative of our support.
Likewise, in 2015, after the Earthquake we did a similar thing for a school close to Lukla. We raise $3500 and we re-stocked the entire school of books, whiteboard, sports equipment, a computer, and all spare change was spent on giving every student a new school uniform. MONEY goes along way when you purchase in NEPAL .
