Hello dear humans,
I am a Gazan engineer with a beautiful family trying to survive this ongoing brutal war.
I will tell my story and how my family survived death 4 times and trying to find hope in the midst of war but sadly there's a price tag for survival; The evacuation the Gaza strip through the Egyptian border requires 5000$ for each family member to be able to cross to safety.
I will introduce my surviving family telling what they did on October 7th.
As for me (Ismael, Mechanical Engineer, 28 yrs) I was waiting on the delivery of construction material and on the construction workers on the morning of that day so that they we could start building my own apartment.
As for my sister (Feryal, Dentist, 29 yrs) , she was preparing for welcoming her pateints in her own clinic which had it's first annervisery just a month ago from that day.
Hind; (Sister, Freelance Photographer, 26 yrs) had just prepared her camera equipment bag to go on one of her first photo sessions in Gaza's park, and as for my brother (Yousef, Freelancer Software Developer, 24 yrs) he was working on putting the final touches on his freelancing project.
And as you see in the picture, Omar (Brother, 10 yrs) he was excited to go out on his weekend.
But everything went differently on that day, at 6 oclock in the morning our plans were cancelled, our dreams were delayed and all we could think about is how to try and save our lives.
On the second day of the war we moved into another house after receving a phone call warning us to leave the area we live in immediatly, and from here we started the displacment journey, and here the story started...
My family evacuated to a number of different houses, one of those houses was in southern Gaza strip after the israeli occuapation calimed that it's a safe area, and here the distaster struck, a house just beside us was destroyed in an airstrike, for 10 seconds all I could see was darkness, all I could hear were screams and all I could feel was the rubble dropping on our bodies, and then the doors to the room were blown out, seconds after that the smoke cleared and there I saw my parents laying on the ground very badly Injuired , the blood covering them, we quickly got them out and transported them in the ambulance to a nearby hostpial where they got treated, after that we knew that no place was safe in Gaza so we went back to northern gaza and decided to resist the occupations displacment.
During our journey of displacment and resistance, the israelie army invaded the area that we evacuated to in northen gaza, we quickly ran for our lives to a nearby hospital (Jordanian field hospital), the tanks were shooting just right behind us, in the hopsital we got surrounded by the army for 2 weeks, we saw hell during those 2 weeks, we had no food, water, mattresses to sleep on or sheets to warm us from the cold of the winter, we lived through a very tough time during those days until we were able to evacuate to another house (the 4th place to be displaced to) which we also couldn't stay in at all times since the army invaded our area again.
During the war, we lost our old family house which we lived our happy childhoods with all it's details, and there we were taught the meaning of family, the house was completley destroyed after it was directly targeted and with it our childhood memories were gone.
They weren't satisfied with just that, the army destroyed a part of our house (my father's house) and bulldozed through our garden and stole and destroyed everything that we had inside the house, but most importatnly they stole all the memories we had their.
And just as we thaught we couldn't lose more, they destroyed my sister's dentistry clinic after they targeted the commercial complex were the clinic was in, just an year after my sister had worked so hard on opening it.
We have nothing left in gaza, we lost a number of family relatives, lost a lot of friends, neighbours and loved ones, we lost our homes and our work places, and all we got left is the belief and the hope that this nightmare will end one day so that we can start on fixing what was destroyed but this nightmare doesn't seem to be ending anytime soon, and since we don't know when it will end, and to save the only thing that we have which is our souls, we very gratfully and politley ask you to help us evacuate from gaza, we ask for your financial help to survive this tragedy and to try and start a new life with new dreams were we could rebuild all what was lost.
