Help Muneca Heal: One-Eyed Wonder Pup Needs Your Support
Hi friends, my name is Heidi, and I recently adopted a sweet beagle puppy named Muñeca (Spanish for “little doll”) from an elderly woman who said she had injured herself and could no longer care for her.
She told me Muñeca had scratched her eye, and it would heal with time. But when I took her to the vet, I learned the heartbreaking truth: Muñeca was born with a serious eye defect that was never treated. By the time I got her, she was already in pain and suffering from pressure and inflammation in that eye.
The vet told me there was no way to save it—her eye had to be removed to end her pain and give her a chance at a healthy, happy life.
What happened
Muñeca recently underwent eye removal surgery (enucleation) to relieve her suffering. She’s now recovering with stitches and a cone, bravely adapting to her new world with one eye.
But the truth is, the medical bills hit hard. Between the specialist exam, surgery, meds, and follow-up care, her vet costs totaled over $2500 and it all came unexpectedly. I wasn’t planning to take on a special-needs puppy, but I couldn’t turn her away once I realized the truth.
Why I’m asking for help
If you’ve ever loved a pet like family, you know how quickly they become part of your heart. Muñeca is mine.
I’m reaching out to ask for anything you can spare to help cover the cost of her surgery and recovery. Even $5 or $10 makes a difference
Every dollar will go toward:
• Vet bills and surgical costs
• Medication and follow-up care
• Special puppy food and supplies during recovery
