Give Munchkin a Fighting Chance

We’re Renée and Everett and these are Munchkin (tan fur) and Indi (black/brown) our pugs. Munchkin is 11 and we have shared our lives with her for 11 wonderful years. She has been our constant companion through all of life’s changes - bringing home Indi, the adoption of our 3 children from foster care, buying our first home, traveling, everything. She is a huge support to us as parents of children with trauma and disabilities and is a sweet friend to our kids and anyone she meets.

Munchkin has been diagnosed with severe pancreatitis, which is still treatable but emergent. We have chosen to admit her to the Ontario Veterinary Clinic in Guelph to give her a fighting chance to live. Otherwise we will have to choose euthanasia, and we just aren’t ready to say goodbye, and neither is she. Two weeks ago we were hiking as a family, and she lead the charge, up and down hills, sniffing and running while Indi was carried in a backpack because of bad legs. Munchkin is young at heart and truly has been physically active and happy until just recently. We are devastated by her diagnosis but are choosing to have hope that she can recover with some intensive care.

We give everything we have to our children and our pugs, and this time it’s just not enough. The funds raised through this GoFundMe will go towards her vet bills, and in the worst case scenario, to her humane goodbye.
