Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out with a heavy heart and a lot of hope. My cat Mishi was recently diagnosed with hyperthyroidism, and her thyroid levels are dangerously high. They’re at 18, when they should be around 2. It explains the sudden weight loss, her constant hunger, and the changes we’ve noticed. She’s lost a third of her body weight in just a few months.
The vet says the best and most effective cure is a radioactive iodine (I-131) treatment, which has a 95–98% success rate and can give her a healthy, normal life again without daily meds or constant decline. But the treatment is expensive, and unfortunately, I just can’t afford it on my own right now.
Without treatment, this condition will eventually become fatal. It puts extreme stress on her heart, kidneys, and body and it breaks me to think about watching her suffer when there’s a proven cure out there. She doesn’t deserve that. She’s my little shadow, my emotional support, and family. Anyone who’s met her knows how special she is.
The cost of the treatment is anywhere from $2,000-5,000 (I will upload a photo of the exact amount when our referral to the clinic arrives) and any help, truly, any amount, would mean the world to me. If you can’t donate, sharing this means just as much!! Thank you for reading, for caring, and for helping me give Mishi a chance at a longer, healthier life. I’ll post updates as we go.
With love,
Shyanna
