Give Melody a Chance at Healing and a Home

Hi, I'm Mehgan! This little girl is Melody. She's about 6-8 months old, and she's a stray who was wandering our neighborhood. One of our neighbors found her and couldn't keep her, so me and my family decided we would take her.

Melody was very malnourished and skinny when she was found, and she has an injured back right leg. She has some pretty severe muscle loss on her injured leg, and she can't jump. I took her to the vet today to get her checked out and see what was wrong.

The vet took X-rays and ultrasound and found that Melody is pregnant and has a badly broken pelvis. She cannot give birth and needs an abortive spay. She also needs an expensive orthopedic surgery to repair her pelvis. She will likely need a plate to fuse the broken pieces together.

The vet said the pelvis repair will cost $5,000 at minimum. We are raising funds for her surgery while we apply for grants and programs that help with expensive veterinary costs and inquire with local rescues.

If we cannot raise the total amount needed to help her, but a rescue can take her, we will donate the funds to the rescue to support her expenses. If we cannot raise the total amount needed and cannot find a rescue that can take her, we will use the funds to give her a peaceful and painless end.
