Hi folks, my name is Matthew Stratton, and I am a recovering drug addict. I've spent almost all of my adult life in prison, and when I wasn't in prison, I was probably in some alleyway trying to get my fix. I am 703 days sober from everything. When I was released from prison a few years ago, I ended up getting robbed and shot in the process. I was shot in my right leg and had to have it amputated. I get around okay on the prosthetic leg that I have, but since I only have the minimum of insurance, they will only pay the least amount possible. I have a dog now; his name is Tank. He is a red nose pit bull, and I don't know what I would do without him. I owe most of my sobriety to him and, of course, God. But if I didn't have Tank, I wouldn't really have a reason to get out of bed every day. He needs me, and I need him.
I'm starting this GoFundMe because the prosthetic leg that I have now is not suitable for my everyday business. Tank and I love to go walking and running, and I can even ride a bike, but I'm just really limited to what I can do. As you can see, Tank is a big dog and requires a lot of exercise, but I just can't give it to him with the prosthetic I have now. I'm asking the community and friends if they could help us, Tank and I, to reach our goal of $4000. That is what it's going to cost for the prosthetic that I need to be able to be more active and therefore be there for my doggy. We thank you so much for any and all help that you can help us with.
