Give Marktavion a Proper Goodbye

On the evening of Thursday, April 24, 2025, our 21 year-old son Marktavion Valentino Perry-Bennett was shot and killed while sitting in front of his grandmother’s family home. It was a senseless killing as we have been told that the suspect didn’t even know our son. We were not prepared for such a tragedy. Marktavion had a smile that lit up a room. He was motivated, respectful and loved by his family and loved ones. Marktavion was just your normal 21 year old kid, trying to figure life out and he most certainly did not deserve to lose his life to the streets. As we were not prepared to lose a child, we don’t have the funds to give of our son a proper burial service. We thank the community and our loved ones in advance for all of the love and support they have offered and we appreciate any contributions towards giving our son a proper farewell. We trust that Marktavion is now in the arms of the Lord and our hearts will forever yearn for him until the day we join him in heaven.
