Help us stay in the home Mark built.
Hi, my name is Chelsea Wilsey. I'm a single mother of two, and today I’m reaching out with the heaviest heart I’ve ever known.
Early morning, I lost my father—Mark Wilsey Sr.—suddenly and unexpectedly. He wasn’t just my dad… he was my rock, my support system, and the man who made sure my kids and I had a roof over our heads by letting us rent his guest house. We had no warning, no time to prepare, and unfortunately, he didn’t leave behind any burial plans or financial instructions.
He left behind not only just his loved ones—but also the home he worked so hard to build and maintain.
Thanks to the support from family, we’ve been able to cover the cremation. However, I’m trying to raise enough to give him the kind of farewell he deserves—nothing extravagant, just a dignified service. Every dollar raised will go directly to his final expenses. If by some miracle the anything is left over, it will go toward keeping a roof over my children’s heads during this time of transition and grief.
If you knew my father, you know he was a straight shooter with a big heart. He was a builder, a hunter, a no-nonsense truth-teller who helped a lot more people than he probably even realized. I want to honor him the right way—and I can’t do it alone.. We also face a new challenge: keeping the house.
This home is more than just walls and a roof—it’s where my children and I live, where my father built memories, and where his presence is still felt in every corner. Unfortunately, I’m now left trying to figure out how to cover bills and mortgage payments that were previously handled by my dad, the primary provider.
We’re not looking for long-term handouts. We’re exploring every option—selling, refinancing, or assistance programs—but that takes time. Right now, we just need a little breathing room to get our footing.
If you’re able to contribute, no matter how small, it will help us keep the lights on and stay in the home a little longer while we work through next steps. If you’re not in a position to donate, sharing this means just as much.
Thank you again for the love, kindness, and support during the hardest chapter of our lives.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
– Chelsea
