Marble Rye has been a part of our family since she was just 8 weeks old, and now, at 8 years old, she continues to be the spirited and loving calico who brings so much joy to our lives. From the very beginning, Marble Rye has been more than just a pet—she is the matriarch of our home, always looking out for us and making sure everyone is cared for. Her playful energy and affectionate nature have made her the heart of our family, and we can’t imagine our lives without her.
Recently, Marble Rye was diagnosed with an injection site sarcoma, an aggressive type of tumor that requires her to have her leg amputated. This news has been devastating, but we are determined to do everything we can to give her the best chance at recovery. The funds raised will go directly toward her surgery, as well as the pre-operative diagnostics and post-operative care she will need. We are working closely with non-profit veterinary clinics to ensure she receives the highest quality care while keeping costs as manageable as possible.
This past year has been especially challenging for our family, with multiple emergencies—both human and veterinary—putting a strain on our resources. Among these challenges, my life partner Amber is still recovering from a significant head trauma sustained in June. Despite these hardships, Marble Rye has remained our steadfast companion and source of comfort.
We are reaching out to our community for help because we want to give Marble Rye the fighting chance she deserves. EVERY bit of support, whether through donations or sharing our story, would mean the world to us. Even small donations right now can help enormously to offset the cost of wound dressings, and transportation to the surgery site.
Thank you so much for considering helping Marble Rye during this difficult time.
