Our sweet cat Mango nearly died from a sudden urinary blockage and needed emergency surgery to survive. He’s only three years old and has been our family’s emotional support cat, bringing us joy and love. Watch Mango's video
We did everything we could to save him and maxed out credit cards and Care Credit to the tune of $10,000. We’d do it again in a heartbeat.
Every dollar truly helps. Even $5 makes a difference. Or, share Mango's campaign. Thank you giving Mango his second chance. Read Mango's story below. PS You can also V*nmo at Helen-Ryan-sq

We didn’t plan on bringing Mango home that day.
We went to pick up Mango’s sister, a rescue cat named Papaya. Just as we were getting ready to put bring her to her new forever home, we saw she was snuggled tightly against her brother.... two tiny orange-and-white kittens, completely bonded, curled up as one.
The volunteer told us Mango’s adoption had just fallen through, and that we could take either kitten home.
My kids didn’t even hesitate. They went to the ATM, pulled out the additional adoption fee, and said, “We’ll take them both.”
The Emotional Support Cat
For our neurodivergent family, Mango has been our comfort, our laughter, our emotional support. He asks to be picked up (“up!”), makes endless “biscuits,” and keeps our feet warm at night with his 15 pounds of love.
He’s our big little guy.
The Emergency
At the end of June, Mango suddenly couldn’t pee. We rushed him to the emergency vet, trembling with fear. They told us he had a life-threatening urinary blockage.
He was catheterized, his bladder drained, blood tests and X-rays done.
The next day, it happened again. Back to the ER. This time, Mango was hospitalized for two nights and sent home.
But by that evening, he still hadn’t peed. We knew something was terribly wrong.
As I went to place him in his carrier, Mango wrapped his paws around my neck and held on so tightly it broke my heart. I sobbed and promised our sweet boy we would not let him die.
We drove an hour away to another ER. Mango was completely blocked, and without immediate surgery, he wouldn’t make it.
Again, we didn’t hesitate. For us, euthanasia was never an option. He’s only three. He has so much life to live and love to give.
We paid over $10,000 between emergency visits and surgery... scraping together every penny we had.
No one helps your fur baby without money up front.
Why We’re Asking for Help
We would do anything for Mango. Our bundle of love has financially stretched to the breaking point, though. We are terrified of complications we won't be able to afford to take care of.
How You Can Help
Every little bit helps. Even $5 makes a difference. If you can't donate, we totally understand. We would love for you to share Mango's story with others.
Thank you for helping us give our sweet boy his second chance. He means the world to us, and your support means more than we can say.
