Maddie has Rett syndrome, a rare neurological condition that affects her ability to speak and use her hands. While she understands far more than she is able to express, eye-gaze technology offers a way for her to communicate using only her eyes.

An eye-gaze communication device could help Maddie make choices, express her wants and needs, take part in conversations, and develop her independence as she grows. It has the potential to give her a way to share her thoughts, personality and experiences with the people around her.

Unfortunately, access to this specialist equipment through traditional funding routes can be extremely difficult, and we don't want delays to prevent Maddie from reaching her full communication potential. We are therefore fundraising towards an eye-gaze communication system and the associated equipment needed to support it.

She lights up every room she enters and has a cheeky, playful personality that shines through every day.
