Hi there, our sweet boy Mac is not doing well. He is currently in the emergency vet awaiting a bone marrow biopsy after having two blood transfusions last night. His red blood cells are dangerously low and we are trying to find a way to stabilize him and ensure his life is comfortable going forward. He is only 15 months old, adopted from a kill shelter a year ago, and deserves the best life a cat can have. He is the most pure, loving, happy little guy you could ever meet. He is our whole world and we want to make sure we can give him whatever care necessary to get him back to the lighthearted, silly little guy we cherish.
We are still waiting to find out the cause of his severe anemia, but with tests, the biopsy, possibly another overnight stay at the hospital and another blood transfusion, and any medication, we anticipate it to be extremely costly. Any little bit you can donate would mean the world to us so we can continue to get our little baby the care he needs. We will try and update our post as we get more information.
UPDATE
We were able to bring him home today (8/10) while we wait for his tests to come back. He is on a lot of meds and his blood count is still low but it's remained stable enough to let him come home and watch his hummingbirds (his favorite pastime). We are anticipating expensive treatment and more vet visits. Thank you all for your donations and support. We truly appreciate every single one of you
