Hi everyone,

My name is Silvia, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for your support on behalf of my cousin—my sister in every way that matters—Andrea, and her little family. They recently received devastating news about their beloved 4-year-old Golden Retriever, Luka.

What started two months ago as what they believed to be a simple hot spot turned into something far more serious. The lesion grew into a painful, bleeding ulcer that refused to heal. After multiple vet visits, tests, and agonizing uncertainty, Luka was diagnosed with hemangiosarcoma—an aggressive cancer with a difficult prognosis.

Despite the heartbreak, there is still hope. Scans have shown that Luka’s cancer remains localized under the skin, giving him a fighting chance with treatment. But with this hope comes an overwhelming financial burden. Countless vet visits, exams, and consultations have already added up, and now Andrea and her family are facing an even tougher decision.

To give Luka the best shot at more time—pain-free and full of love—they’ve decided to proceed with amputation of his affected leg. This costly procedure is the best way to remove the tumor, but it comes with significant challenges: weeks of recovery, rehabilitation, and adjustments as Luka learns to navigate life as a tripod. Chemotherapy is also being considered as part of his treatment plan, adding to the financial strain.

For those of us who have pets, we know they are more than just animals—they are family. Luka is Andrea’s heart, her companion, and a source of unconditional love. She is doing everything in her power to help him, but she can’t do it alone.

Hola a todos,

Mi nombre es Silvia y hoy pido su apoyo para mi prima—mi hermana de corazón—Andrea y su pequeña familia, quienes han recibido una noticia devastadora sobre su amado Golden Retriever de 4 años, Luka.

Lo que parecía ser una simple irritación en la piel resultó ser hemangiosarcoma, un cáncer agresivo. Tras múltiples visitas al veterinario y exámenes costosos, han decidido darle una oportunidad con la amputación de su pata, el mejor camino para frenar la enfermedad. Además, están considerando quimioterapia, lo que suma aún más gastos.
