Hi friends,
We are putting this fundraiser together for our puppy Obi,
We adopted Obi from a local foster just a week ago. We had no plans of adding a 2nd pup to our family, but when we saw his face and how sweet he was we just knew we had to add him to our family and give him a home.
Obi is a 9 week old Cane Corso mix. He loves to be held and has very large expressive eyes. Hes the sweetest little guy.
Several days after adopting him we noticed he had not been eating very well the night before and became very lethargic to the point where he wouldnt stand. He threw up and that when we decided to take him in to an emergency vet to get him help.
We found out after talking with the previous foster that his mother's milk had dried up after a week and was bottle fed from there on. He is very small, only 2.4 lbs when he should be about 10 lbs.
His glucose levels were very low, as well as his albumen and he was very dehydrated. He also tested positive for parasites. Currently he is staying overnight and possibly up to 72 hours getting a glucose drip, an infusion of plasma, pro biotics, and other things to help him level out and give his body what he needs to take care of itself. Once he levels out and can regulate his own glucose levels, he will be treated for the parasites.
Since Obi is very small, we don't know what his prognosis may be. But we feel that he deserves any amount of care to give him the chance at life he deserves. We are all very invested in him and want him to make it through and come home to us.
We have already paid a big portion of his vet bills, but will need to finance the rest. We are in the middle of renovating a home to get it sold, so we were not expecting a large expense as this. We are a single income household with 2 kids and would like to do anything we can to help Obi. If you are able to donate any amount to help us give Obi the care he deserves, we eternally appreciate it. Let's get Obi home so he can grow up and live the life he deserves. Thankyou so much
We will continue to give updates here on Obi's condition as it progresses, thankyou!
