Imagine having to live a life with uncertainty every single day. Imagine waking up in so much agony that your whole body feels like it's shutting down, starting the day with fear not knowing if this pain will ever stop. This is what Shashini, a loving and bubbly daughter, beautiful wife, and caring sister has to endure daily. Giving her a chance at the bright future she deserves would mean the world to her and her loved ones.
Sashini is a successful, educated, beautiful, 37 year old young lady, who completed her higher studies in Melbourne and went back to her home country, Sri Lanka to build up her dream life which has now unfortunately been cut short by this tragic illness.
Sashini’s world turned upside down when she was diagnosed with a deadly incurable chronic kidney disease called IgA Nephropathy in October 2020. She has immediately started dialysis since then, however it has now come to an aggressive stage where it can only be treated by a kidney transplant. Sashini’s kidneys are currently functioning at very low capacity, she is undergoing dialysis a few times a week until she finds a matching donor for the transplant surgery.
Sashini’s husband, mum, dad and her sister have since devoted their lives giving up their savings and spending every penny on their beloved wife, daughter and sister to avoid facing the worst nightmare any family member could ever imagine, and to give Sashini a chance to live out the long and healthy life she deserves.
Sashini’s Kidney transplant surgery including the ongoing dialysis expenses is expected to be around AUD 40,000. Due to Sashini’s current complications, her doctors have suggested that the surgery needs to be completed at least by mid-January 2021.
While Sashini’s family members are doing their best to find the resources to save their beloved wife's/daughter's/sister's life, we want to help raise money to ease their financial burden and be a strength to our amazing friend. They have already sought assistance from Sri Lanka President's Fund, which is expected to be around LKR 400,000 that would be credited to the hospital account directly.
We humbly appeal you to please dig deep to help Sashini and her family through this hard time. The sooner we can help her get this procedure, the more effective we hope it will be. Every dollar donated for this cause will help cover a valuable portion of her pricey procedure.
