Give life to my choreography

Who this will help

Hello, I am Candy Jimenez, a teacher, choreographer, and artist. I teach in the public schools in addition to creating professionally for outside of high school projects. I am starting a GoFundMe in hopes of raising money for the needs of this creative project. Usually I fund myself as writing for grants is already time consuming in addition to my full time teaching status for my high school students. I find that with the current economic situation it is becoming difficult to self sustain and need to reach out to donors in hope of raising a minimum fund in order to help my idea come to life.

Why I'm fundraising

I recently choreographed a piece, "Drinking of Them Like Wine" it was a solo exploration regarding the action and concept of crying. The piece has recently been accepted into a festival Breaking Ground of which will be presented at Tempe Center for The Arts. This version was accepted with the idea of a full cast of 12 dancers. Although the festival does award a minimal fee for choreography it does not nearly cover the cost of a cast of 12. In addition 2 of those dancers will be traveling to Tempe, AZ from different parts of the country. Imagine a cast of 12 talented dancers from different parts of the country including Arizona to bring this idea to life. Believe me it will be exhilarating to see.

The impact of your support

Your support will fund travel and lodging as well as an artist monetary fee for talent. To be specific:

Round Trip Flights: $600.00

Lodging for 2 for 4 nights and 5 days: $800.00

Food/local transportation: $250.00

Talent Fee: $3,600 (12 dancers x$300.00 per talent)
