Hi everyone, my name is Katie and my husband, Aaron, and I recently adopted a sweet 4 month old kitten that we have named Lazlo from the Placer SPCA. Prior to coming into our family Lazlo has had an extremely difficult life. He was found as a stray with 3rd degree burns on his paws, and fighting panleukopenia, which the survival rate is less than 20%. Despite these odds he survived and then became infected with giardia and coccidia, two parasites that wrecked his insides. By the time we adopted him, he had mostly overcome all of these things, but within 24 hours in our home he began sneezing which led to open-mouth breathing and lethargy.

Worried, we brought him into urgent care and as the situation progressed and he got worse, he needed to be hospitalized. Under constant supervision and in an oxygen cage for nearly two days all of our vet team was stumped and could not figure out what was going on with him.

After lots of tests, medications, and guessing he’s back home but not out of the woods. He is getting better, but he is still sick.

We want this guy to have a chance to get better, but we are financially tapped out. Our financial situation shouldn’t be the reason why he isn’t given a proper chance at a healthy life and we have done everything we possibly can.

I believe that if you want a village you have to be a villager, so here I am being a villager and asking for help in any way.

We are going to use this purely for the large amount of vet bills that have stacked up as well as any future bills he may face.
