Give Lauren her new voice

My name is Lauren Butcher. I'm a punk singer, occasional author, radio presenter and proud transgender woman.

I am raising funds to get vocal feminisation surgery in Melbourne. I have recently been informed I am on the waitlist to receive the surgery and I'm reaching out to you to help me make this life-changing surgery a reality.

Back in 2019, I booked myself for a consultation to receive vocal feminisation surgery. In 2020 I flew to Melbourne and met with my surgeon. Unfortunately, the unpleasantness hit the globe and my surgery was pushed back indefinitely. I had lost hope of receiving the surgery, until a month ago when I got a text message letting me know I was on the waitlist. The real waitlist!

I received some money from some beautiful folks back in 2020 and now I'm raising the rest of the money. I will likely dip into my super fund to pay for this surgery, so your help would be appreciated. You would be changing my life.

To be able to speak and sing in a voice that doesn't cause so much discomfort would be such a relief. My voice in my mind doesn't match what comes out of my mouth and I find myself holding back and not speaking when I should. This surgery would put an end to this profound incongruence.
