Help Koda Walk Again After a Serious Injury

Our sweet boy, Koda, was missing for 8 days. When he finally came home, we could tell right away that something was wrong. His leg was badly broken—fractured all the way down the bone—and he had clearly been through a lot trying to make his way back to us.

After taking him to the vet, we learned that the only way to save his leg is with major surgery. A metal rod has to be placed inside the bone for it to heal properly. Without this procedure, Koda may never regain full use of his leg.

The vets believe he was likely hit by a car. We don’t know how long he struggled before he got home, but we’re grateful he made it back safely.
