Hi, my name is Lisa Lipyanic. I go to Kensington, Philadelphia, monthly to help the homeless/addicts on the street.

Today, 6/7, while on the streets helping, this poor little puppy was in a lot of discomfort due to both of her ears being completely swollen shut from inflammation. The owner, who was homeless on the street, was crying because he can't care for her. I did my best to try to clean her ears, but ultimately I knew she needed to be seen by a vet. The owner said he couldn't do that and asked if I would please take her to get her help and the care she needs and to take care of her.

With that being said, I did take her and I am currently at the vet. She was given steroids, they cleaned both ears, and sent her home with oral antibiotics for 14 days and flea and tick medicine. Most likely, they said she will need surgery. They will know for sure when we bring her back to be checked in 2 weeks.

The expense of all this was definitely not expected, but I couldn't leave her to die, which is what would have happened. I am asking for any donations to help with the expense of today's vet visit as well as the future vet appointments to give this puppy the new life she deserves in a healthy environment.
