Hello everyone, my name is Keaton Dockery! I have never used GoFundMe before, but at this moment it is a need for my own health and wellbeing. A few years ago, right before Covid, I had fallen into a major depressive hole that took me far too long to crawl back out of. I lived my life everyday with no drive or ambition therefore living my life in a neglectful manner. I stopped taking care of myself, didn’t care for what my body was consuming, nor have the care for bettering myself and making sure I was healthy. It is now that I have to face the consequences of my actions and fight my hardest to get my teeth back! What once used to be perfectly straight pearly whites have now become a horror scene of neglected dental hygiene. Everything from cavities, missing teeth, dental abscess, nerve exposures, gingivitis, to dealing with 2-3 tooth infections which is/can be life threatening.
My life has drastically changed since getting out of that deep hole I was once stuck in…I have a wonderful life with my amazing girlfriend who has given the world to me and has done so much to help me in all ways I never once imagined happening. I am only 26 years old going on 27 and I am far too young to not have a nice smile, to continue living my life with zero confidence, and feeling shame every single day due to my past. I have to face reality and reach out for help instead of going on day by day saying to myself “I’ll figure it out” and being delusional about how things will turn out. Asking for others help has always been difficult for me to do, but financially and realistically speaking…I need all the help I can get. I have a full dental plan ahead of me doing everything with restoration, extractions, crowns, and so on. Everything that would have been around 14k is now at 12k all thanks to the help of my current dentist who is wanting and trying their very best to be able to help me have a smile once again!
It is quite difficult for me to ask for help from anyone, but it’s become crucial and any help I can get is better than none at all. I’m doing all I can to afford as much of this as I’m able, but I can’t do it alone anymore. If you choose to support me in this journey, thank you.
