In 1998 Karin started her Senior year of high school with a torn ACL that needed to be repaired. The surgeons noted that she had significant damage to her ACL and would have more problems with her knee in the future. Over the years, Karin has endured multiple failed surgeries (including partial and full knee replacements). In September of 2018 she fell and her knee replacement had become detached. After many visits and multiple physician's opinions, it was determined that no further surgeries would give her full use of her leg or alleviate her chronic pain.

After years of surgeries and incredible pain, in July of 2019 she made the difficult and emotional decision to have her leg amputated and move on with her life.

Karin is a mother, wife,daughter and a NC public elementary school secretary that needs her life back! Her 15 and 13 year old sons are active in school and sports and like having mom around to watch and be supportive. She is 38 years old and needs a microprocessor knee that she can’t get from her insurance company. Karin says: I want to be able to walk and hike and swim and get back to things that I did before all of these things happened in 2014!
