On January 14th our hilarious and brilliant sister, friend, and godmother to my niece, Tia Marie Tyler, aka Kafi, died in a hospital in Wichita, far from her friends and family on the East Coast. Your donation now can help us transport, celebrate, and bury our loved one.
Kafi/Tia faced a debilitating struggle with pulmonary hypertension and embolisms. Just the week before she died, an incredible team had collaborated to pick Kafi/Tia up from the hospital and drive her home to die amongst those she loved. But, death had other plans, and took her before we could arrive.
Now, we are working together to bring Tia's physical form back into the loving arms of her family and friends, but we can't do it alone. We need your help to give our loved one the Homegoing she deserves, according to her spiritual beliefs.
We anticipate the cost of transport, funeral and burial next to her mother to be approximately $12,000. If you would be so kind as to extend your love to our kin, we would be forever thankful for whatever you can give - $10 or $1,000 are equally welcome.
If we can die together, with the respect and honor we all serve, then perhaps we can learn to live together too - in justice, peace and true liberation. Thank you for your help.
