Give Justin Blain a Fighting Chance
Donation protected
Our good buddy Justin Blain could use a little help. On Thursday, December 12th Justin suffered a stroke. He has a massive blood clot on the left side of his brain where the artery enters. The doctor thinks the clot started in his heart (coronary thrombosis) and traveled up to the left side of his brain. They said it could be genetic or a hole could have formed between the two sides of his heart when he was born.
Justin is making progress everyday, but has a long road to travel. Thankfully he is surrounded by family and friends who want to help as best as we can.
One of the biggest hurdles Justin faces is the fact that he is not insured. Being a bartender has its advantages and disadvantages. Most make too much to qualify for state funded insurance but too little to afford the out of pocket expense. His medical bills will be substantial, the skilled nursing alone is $550 a day. Our donations would also help with his living expenses and modifications/assistive equipment for the house once he is able to go home.
Right now Justin can walk assisted, move both his left arm and leg, and right arm and leg (just not as strong as the left side) he hasn't been able to speak yet, though he gives a great hug, fist bump, peace sign, and smile. He is getting frustrated that he cannot speak, which is a good sign, he is going to fight to regain his speech!
Justin has had his ups and downs in life, and right now, more than ever he needs our help. Let's come together as a community and give him a fighting chance!
