A Shelter for Juders: Help a Determined Father and Family Find Stability

We are urgently seeking your help for Juders, a dedicated father, hardworking tradesman, and recent arrival to the U.S., who is currently homeless with his wife, two young boys and his mother.

This family fled persecution in Haiti in search of safety and opportunity. Now, after reuniting in the U.S., they are facing their greatest challenge yet: finding stable housing.

Juders: A Story of Resilience and Hope

Juders's journey exemplifies courage and determination. Since arriving in the U.S. in 2023, he has worked tirelessly to build a future for his family:

Juders initially arrived in 2023, leaving behind danger in Haiti. He quickly found work in Ohio, took English classes, and joined a Workers Union. His union sponsored him through trade school, where he graduated with a certificate in bricklaying/masonry. In 2025, after saving funds and seeking assistance, he bravely brought his wife and two young sons to the U.S. to finally be safe together.

The Current Crisis

Despite his efforts, the family's safety was compromised by threats following him from Haiti. To find a secure environment and better schools, Juders moved the family to Los Angeles, following members of his union who anticipated a high demand for builders (ahead of the upcoming World Cup and Olympics).

The Challenge:

Urgent Need for Housing: Juders's savings have run out. They are currently staying in a temporary hotel until next Friday 21st, after which they have nowhere to go.

The Language Barrier: Juders and his family do not speak English well, making the job search and navigating life in a new country even harder, though he continues to search for masonry work daily.

I came to know Juders while serving as his Haitian Kreyol interpreter on an ongoing legal case. I was profoundly moved by his resilience, his love for his family, and the hope in his sons' eyes for a better life here—a life of safety and growth.

Our Goal: Three Months of Stability ($5,000)

We are making this urgent request to raise $5,000 to secure a safe apartment and provide a vital three-month runway for this family of 5.
