Hi there, my name is Lisa, I'm a mum to a beautiful 25 year old daughter, and nan to a beautiful 2 year old boy. A little boy that's always smiling and happy, that deserves nothing but complete happiness in life. Let's start with my daughters story.
08.09.2021- A day that changed our lives forever. A day that nobody could've ever prepared us for. A day that we got told our baby has Leukemia.

A week prior, Wednesday 1st September we was up A&E and got sent home with antibiotics for tonsilitis. Jaxon perked up a bit over the weekend but then started to go back downhill again. Not eating, not drinking, temperatures, unexplained bruising, struggling to walk & a weird pinprick rash. After a call to 111 we returned back to A&E on Wednesday 8th September where we spent 7.5 hours waiting for the doctors to run all the tests. I remember the doctor saying to me "We're doing all the blood work, even for cancer. This isn't to scare you, we're just doing it to rule everything out". I remember saying to Lewis "They're just doing it to cover their backs. He is fine. It's probably just something viral". Never in a million years do you expect a doctor to come in and tell you that your 2 year old son has Leukemia and will be taken straight to London the following day to meet with his consultant & discuss his treatment plan.

We have a long road ahead. 3 years & 4 months is his total treatment time and we're only at the very beginning. The longest 5 weeks of our life so far but Jax is doing amazing & coping well which is the main thing.
My story (mum)
I received a phone call on 8th September. My daughter could barely speak. I knew something was wrong. I heard the words cancer and my life just broke into a million pieces. I could hear my daughter sobbing, and me as a mother couldn't respond..You always think it happens to somebody else, never you. My beautiful grandson was diagnosed with leukemia. Our world just fell apart. My daughter had started a new career as a dental nurse and my son in law had the perfect job with his company. They wanted to build for their future. Every parent wants the best for their family. They thrived to do this. Their dreams have been shattered. Its a regular visit to Marsden hospital in London, a 2 hour journey from where they live, as well as visits to their local hospital. It's a long road ahead of them with financial costs occurring. Nobody ever expects this to happen. Any help towards Jaxon's health care would be greatly appreciated. Let him be the 2 year old he should be. Nobody likes to ask for help, especially my daughter & her husband, but sometimes you do whatever it takes for the ones you love.
