My name is Marielle, and earlier this year I rescued a sweet 3-year-old French Bulldog named Java. He was found by the NYPD abandoned in a cage at a park—emaciated, suffering from severe gastrointestinal issues, and with a serious spinal injury.

When I adopted Java in January, I was determined to give him the love and care he had always deserved. Sadly, his health has recently taken a turn. After becoming very ill, X-rays revealed significant new bone growth along his spine, pelvis, and neck—caused by trauma, most likely from his past abuse.

Java now requires weekly laser therapy, Adequan injections, and a neurologist consultation that will likely lead to spine surgery. Despite everything he has endured, Java is the most loving, gentle boy. My only wish is to keep him comfortable and give him the best chance at a happy, pain-free life.

The cost of his ongoing treatments and potential surgery is overwhelming, and I can’t manage it alone. Any support—whether through donations or simply sharing Java’s story—means the world to us.
