Give Jasper a Chance to Play Again
Donation protected
Hi, this is Jasper. He needs your help to get his surgery. Jasper injured himself in January. We got up one morning and Jasper was sitting with his leg raised; he was shaking and whining a little. We took him to our vet. They did an X-ray and checked him out, but they didn't see anything on the X-ray. He was given pain meds to take at home. We had hoped all would be better in a few days.
About a week later, he started walking funny (uncoordinated), so back to the vet we went. Our vet suspected something neurological and referred us to an emergency clinic with a neurologist. The neurologist told us she believed he had a spinal issue. We started Jasper on prednisone for a month. During this time, Jasper also had several acupuncture and chiropractic sessions. After several weeks, he was not getting better. We had a spinal X-ray done and finally an MRI. The neurologist said he has a herniated disk in his neck pressing on his spinal cord.
At this point, surgery is our only option. We love our easy-going, happy boy and want him back. Jasper is wondering why he can't go out and play with his girls, Abbie and Breeze.
My husband and I are beside ourselves; we never thought something like this could happen. Just seeing him like this is heartbreaking. We have dug deep into our accounts to help Jasper up to this point and have over half the amount for his surgery. Would you consider donating whatever you can to help us make up the rest so he can have this much-needed surgery? We appreciate anything you can give.
We know that Jasper, at 9 years old, has many more years and adventures left.
Thank you,
Barbara
