Give Jaleesa the memorial she deserves, help Amira

The family of Jaleesa Martinez could use your support to provide her the memorial Celebration of Life she deserves, and to help cover the expenses of caring for Jaleesa's surviving 1.5 year old daughter, Amira.

Sadly, Jaleesa was a passenger involved in a car accident where a driver attempted to pass them illegally, and when they didn't make it, they tried to get back over and clipped the back corner of the car, causing them to cross oncoming traffic and run directly into a pole.  Her mother, daughter and friend were all in the vehicle and survived with minor to moderate injuries, but Jaleesa unfortunately was not so lucky, and never regained consciousness. Her soul is no longer with us, and she currently is on life support, awaiting the surgery to donate her organs.

Her immediate family could use help to cover expenses in this difficult time, including helping her younger brother, her grandmother, and other family members pay for flights to get to her, as well as to cover the cost of a Celebration of Life planned near what would have been Jaleesa's 21st birthday in March, as well as current family bills and expenses, and a savings fund for her beautiful daughter.

Jaleesa was a beautiful soul with a warm heart and quick smile, who was loved by so many. She was so many things to so many people. Jaleesa was a wonderful, caring daughter to Wenston and Chela, an adored niece to many, including her Auntie Lani and Uncle Dash, a cherished granddaughter and great granddaughter, a courageous big sister, and a wonderful mother to her daughter, Amira, as well as a best friend to Myranda, and many more.

When Jaleesa set her mind to something, she worked hard to achieve it, and was so proud of being a first generation college student with excellent grades, all while working and caring for her beautiful daughter. She loved food and music, and she wanted to see the world one day, and was known amongst her friends for her excellent advice.  She was a serious grammarian!  Don't let her catch you using "you're" or "your" incorrectly, and don't leave out a comma!  She would let you know!  The sloth was her spirit animal, even though she was one of the fastest runners on her high school track team. She was a captain on her cheer team and more recently, worked with special needs children.  She was currently studying nursing, but recently shared wanting to be a teacher. She would have been such a great teacher!

When you heard the sound of her laugh, you couldn't help but laugh with her too. Her best friend described her as the funniest person she knew. She shown so brightly, for far too short, and will be greatly missed by everyone who was lucky enough to meet her.
