Give Hope to Sally and Her Rescues

Hi, my name is Jennifer. Please take the time to read this. I'm not the important one in this story. Let me tell you about the one who is, my good friend Sally Nitz, the woman I am raising money for, and of course, her sweet little fur babies.

Sally rescues dogs and cats from local shelters. Not only does she nurse them back to good health, she also trains a lot of these dogs to become therapy animals. With these same dogs, she volunteers and brings them to facilities to uplift the sick or elderly. Sally never gives up on an animal, even if it means she will go without to give them everything they need. I've never seen someone so selfless. She's nothing shy of a hero, at least in the eyes of all the animals she has saved over the years.

Now let's get to another important part of this story and GoFundMe. A couple of years ago, Sally rescued not one but two very small Beagle sisters that were saved from an abusive home. These two puppies were starved for a long time and needed to be nourished and nursed back to good health, which Sally indeed did. These sisters, Dream and Everly, were very well taken care of by Sally, but since Sally is a retired school teacher on a fixed income, any big unexpected expense can really throw off her budget, which, as we all know, can be extremely stressful and taxing. Last year, both Dream and Everly, at different times, ended up needing to have ACL surgeries. Both of those surgeries were thousands of dollars that Sally did not have. She charged them on a credit card that she is still paying on today. I posted a GoFundMe last year, and Sally was blessed to get some donations to help with that surgery. But now, as the holidays approach, another very unfortunate setback for Everly has Sally in another desperate situation.

Last week, Everly injured her rear left kneecap and tore a ligament that requires yet another surgery. This surgery is expected to cost at least $4500. Now let me explain something: when this first started happening with these sister pups both needing ACL surgeries, it was then explained by a vet that this is hereditary. The vet also explained it was highly likely that the other knee would go within two years of the first one. Left and right, Sally is thrown curveballs that are affecting her financially. Just when she thinks there are no more unexpected expenses, Everly ends up developing hypothyroidism. Sally is waiting on her thyroid panel results to know which new medications the vet will start her on that also will cost more money. Let's not forget she has to take Everly to do periodic bloodwork, which is $168 each time. I won't even continue with the other lists of medical expenses for other animals or her personal expenses. Now I know people are struggling right now, but all I'm asking is if you're able to, please donate anything you can to help Sally and her fur babies. If you can't help financially, please at least share this story. Thank you so much.
