Give Hope to Murphy's Hope

Hi, my name is Dee Murphy James. I am the Principal/Chief Administrator of Murphy's Hope Academy, a small private non-public school. Murphy's Hope Academy is named in honor of my parents, who sacrificed and worked hard to ensure my sisters and I had a solid early educational experience. These concrete early educational experiences led to university degrees for my sisters and me and careers that lasted for thirty years. I am a retired teacher of thirty years. I have acquired various bachelor's and master's degrees and certifications in the education realm. These certifications and degrees include National Board Certified Teacher, Master Teacher, Kindergarten through Sixth Grade Teacher, Kindergarten through twelfth Grade Administrator, Curriculum and Instruction Specialist, and Mentorship. I have spent many years collaborating with fellow teachers, support staff, administrators, parents, grandparents, guardians, students and community members that support education.

Recently I had the opportunity to observe various children in different public school settings. I witnessed these children expressing to teachers they were angry, sad, mad and frustrated. They cried daily and had meltdowns frequently. Their parents were called, or they were suspended. Teachers and administrators did not know how to help them and sometimes did not have the support staff to assist them and admitted it. After leaving those classrooms almost in tears. I just had enough of the suffering and tug-of-war situations. Children were losing who they were as happy, energetic, intelligent young people. The life was being consumed from them. It was heartbreaking to witness. Something had to be done immediately to give them hope. I went to my office and prayed. God said," now is the time to start your dream." As a result, Murphy's Hope Academy came to fruition. Our hope at Murphy's Hope Academy is to provide a solid early educational environment that supports the whole child's academic, emotional, social, physical, and spiritual necessities. Our educational and environmental design will champion students who need additional support. Our design will include a positive, nurturing environment, one-on-one support, experienced, trained staff, a researched-based curriculum, equipment, materials and a learning space matched to the specific ongoing needs of students.

Murphy's Hope Academy needs your prayers and financial assistance to create an environment that supports students who need rescuing now. They need our support to become enthusiastic life-long learners and productive citizens. At Murphy's Hope Academy, we aim to empower children to embrace learning and the school setting and to maintain positive interactions with their peers and teachers.
