Give Hope to Leslie: Urgent Medical Assistance Needed

A message from Leslie's mother from Cuenca, Ecuador:

"With a heavy heart but full of faith, I share with you that I am going through one of the most difficult times of my life. My little Leslie was diagnosed last Saturday with Hydrocephalus (a buildup of fluid in the cavities deep within the brain). An emergency surgery was performed on her to relieve the pressure in her head that she was experiencing, and in the process, the doctors discovered 3 tumors in her brain.

Now she faces a new stomach complication (her intestines are not functioning well) that is keeping her hospitalized.

While we wait for her condition to improve for the next brain surgery (to remove her tumors), the medical expenses have become overwhelming. I'm embarrassed to ask for financial assistance, but I am desperate. If you are able to help us financially, every contribution, no matter how small, will be a ray of hope for Leslie."

The first surgery cost was $8,000 (which was paid with a credit card). I don't have any idea yet what her second medical emergency will cost. The surgery to remove her tumors is scheduled to be done in the next 2 weeks, and the estimated cost is $15-20 thousand dollars.

About Leslie: Leslie is 21 years old. She is a beautiful young girl. Until her illness, she was in her 3rd year of studying architecture. Her desire was to have a profession that would help her family improve their quality of life. Now her dreams are threatened by this terrible illness that can actually take her life.

About Leslie's mother:
I had the privilege of meeting Leslie's mother, Elizabeth, in Cuenca, Ecuador. Although she is a hardworking woman and barely makes it financially from month to month, she impressed us with her very generous spirit. She was always giving of her time and resources to help anyone that needed her, even sharing with others the food she had for herself, taking people into her house when they didn't have a place to stay.
Givers usually have a very difficult time asking for help when they find themselves in need. Now she faces this enormous financial burden. Now is our turn to help this self-sacrificing family.

May your love for God move you to help this family with whatever you can to help Leslie get better.

Thank you very much and God bless you and your family.
