Hello, we are Rodney and Becky Dorman, grandparents to Weston. We are asking for your generosity for donations and prayers to help our grandson, Weston Lee Douglas. Weston came into this world Saturday, 6/14 @ 17:44, @ 6lbs 4oz, with a herniated diaphragm that is letting his abdominal organs into the upper body cavity. His right lung is 90% developed and his left lung is less than 10%. His heart is currently pushed out of place onto the right lung, putting pressure on it. Weston was also born with Omphalocele, which involves organs protruding through the belly button area, covered by a membrane. He is currently in the NICU at Children's Hospital in Dallas, TX.

Weston was immediately placed on a vent and required 100% oxygen. At 24 hours after birth, we are down to approximately 40% oxygen, and doctors say if he continues to improve the next day or two, they will be performing his first surgery to fix the herniated diaphragm to give his lungs room to develop and his heart would migrate to the correct position in his chest. Where he is expected to be for the next 90+ days. These conditions will require multiple surgeries and long stays in the NICU, which will quickly become a financial burden on his parents during this trying time.

His mother, Alecia, has been an LVN, sacrificing most of her time for her passion of caring for the elderly in assisted living facilities. His father, Matt, is a U.S. Army veteran and heavy machinery technician. This family is already facing overwhelming circumstances to care for their son and other children during this trying time. We appreciate any help you are able to provide through donations and/or your continued prayers! We have already had one miracle, Weston survived being brought into this world!!
